A dusting massage is the first step of the rug cleaning process. This is done by using a machine beater to get the loose dirt and soils out of the rug. A dusting machine is also used to gently shake the rug. This is a process that will force dirt and soils out of the rug fibers. The majority of the dirt is shaken from the rug before it proceeds to the next step.
The stability of the dyes in the fibers of your rug need to be tested. This is the next step in our cleaning process for an oriental rug. A test is performed to see if there is any dye-bleeding from the fibers. If the rug experiences dye-bleeding, then the dye is not stable and will run when exposed to water. To counter dye bleeding, we will set the ph of the cleaning solution to a neutral ph so the cleaning solution will not interact with the dye. This will prevent any running from the dyes.
The use of a water submersion and hand shampoo is the next step of our cleaning process. We soak the oriental rug in water with a green cleaning solution. The shampoo is mild and will work the dirt and soil out of the rug fibers. Impurities that remain in the rug are flushed out along with embedded dirt in the foundation of the rug. Our hand washing will work the cleaning solution into the rug and trap any dirt, stains and odors in the cleaning solution and easy removal for the next stage.
Once the scrubbing is done we rinse the shampoo and cleaner off of the rug. We will rinse the rug several times to remove dirty water and cleaning solution from the rug. Once the rinse is complete, the rug then needs to have excess water removed. This is done by placing the rug in our spin drying machine. Our centrifuge drying machines remove up to 95% of the water in rug leaving it clean and fresh again. Because so much water is removed, this ensure that the drying time is quick and there is no danger of mold growth.
Drying is the last step in the cleaning process. The rug is hoisted on our drying racks and dried in our special room with a dehumidifier. This allows the rug to dry quickly and keeps the rug fibers soft. We will also check and groom the fringes of the rug before it is wrapped and shipped out.
