At GreenChoice, we don't offer a one-size-fits-all approach to rug cleaning. Our rug cleaning service is tailored to meet the huge variation in rug types.

Antique rugs require gentle tailored cleaning methods, while heavily trafficked throw rugs need deep machine washing. That's why we primarily offer 2 major rug cleaning services: Customized Hand Washing & Machine Washing.

Machine Washing: Our Machine Washing rug cleaning service utilizes large industrial rug cleaning machines that gently clean your rug using tumbling movements; like a gigantic washing machine. This procedure is very economical and extremely effective, but we only recommend this service for durable machine made rugs.

Hand Washing: For antique rugs, heirloom pieces, and fragile tapestries we recommend our hand washing service. Our hand washing technique is a customized service that is overseen by our senior rug cleaning specialists. This process can best be described as a rug "bathing" process that begins with surveying your rug fiber type, colorfastness, and origin.

Our Hand Washing Service:

• To being, an industrial vacuum is used to remove abrasive particulates, so the cleaning process does not harm the rug fiber.
• Next, the proper organic cleaning solutions are selected depending on your rug type.
• Once the proper cleaning materials are selected, we gently shampoo the rug, by hand, using delicate accuracy to remove stains, dander, and any embedded allergens.
• The rug is then placed into a shallow bath to completely remove any cleaning residue.
• We will then use our air-movers to properly and gently dry your rug.
• And finally, we apply the finishing touches by grooming your rug and restoring its natural "nap". The nap, a.k.a. "pile", is the direction in which the surface of your rug fiber should be brushed. Using traditional grooming brushes, we groom the nap, which will restore your rugs natural brilliance.
