Prepare for Water Damage

With Storm Season here and the warning of possibly 2 feet of rain in NYC it is time to think about possible water damage and how you can protect yourself. If you live in a area that already received alot of rain that means the ground is less able to soak up rain. So even a regular amount rain can cause small flooding in your home. A flooded basement is a common problem. If you know you will get large amount of rain then consider unplugging appliance in the basement. If you store things like paint and other chemicals make sure they are high above the floor.
