How to Remove Paint Stains From your Carpet

To remove wet latex paint from your carpeting, soak the carpet with dish detergent.  10-20 parts water to detergent should be mixed and allowed to saturate the carpet fiber. Once it has been left standing for about 10 minutes, blot the stain, then rinse; repeat if needed.

If the paint has been allowed to dry, a conservative amount of paint thinner carefully applied to the area will loosen the paint to a point where the dish detergent should take care of the rest of the stain.

Once the stain has been removed, just remember to dry the area as much as possible to ensure your carpet padding does not remain wet.
